Abstract BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The role of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for patients with brain metastases from colorectal cancers (CRC) has not been established. authors present a single-institution experience CRC who underwent SRS metastatic spread. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed 112 (64 female, 57.14%) 450 that were treated Gamma Knife between 2000-2022. median age at was 63 years (range: 28-86) and the Karnofsky Performance Score (KPS) 80 60-100). primary sites colon (86 patients, 76.79%) rectal (26 21%). Three hypo-fractionated (3 sessions) margin dose 27 Gy 27- 30). All other single-session 18 11-20). RESULTS patient survival after 7 months 1-174). CONCLUSIONS effectively controls low risk treatment-related toxicity, allowing focus disease management. During follow-up, development or additional can be safely by repeat SRS.

Stereotactic radiosurgery for brain metastases.
Worldwide, approximately 100,000 patients have undergone stereotactic radiosurgery for a variety of intracranial lesions, of which brain metastases represent the most common treatment indication. This article summarizes the major issues surrounding the management of brain metastases, and also analyzes 21 independent reports of Gamma Knife- or linear accelerator-based radiosurgery, representing ...

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of whole brain radiotherapy (WBRT) combined with streotactic radiosurgery versus stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) alone for patients with brain metastases. MATERIALS AND METHODS This was a retrospective study that evaluated the results of 46 patients treated for brain metastases at Dr. Abdurrahman Yurtaslan Ankara Oncology Training an...

Brain metastases management is still controversial even though many trials are trying to define the respective roles of neurosurgery, whole-brain radiotherapy, single-dose stereotactic radiotherapy and fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy. In this article, we review data from trials that examine the role of radiosurgery and fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy in the management of brain met...

INTRODUCTION We report our series of patients with large brain metastases, >3 cm in diameter, who received stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) as a component of their treatment, focusing on survival and intracranial recurrence rates. MATERIALS AND METHODS The brain tumor database was queried for patients treated with SRS for large brain metastases. Local recurrence (LR) and distant brain recurren...
